Hi Maja,

Thanks for the welcome. I have just one concern with the site. It seems you have to read other people's work and follow them to get them to read yours and to follow you. But what about the general public? How do they get to read our stuff? I don't want to be involved in exchanging comments and followings. @xxmajaine @xxmajaine

          Hey.

The quickest way to get some comments are to do read for reads, and comments for comments. However, it is rarely helpful, and often people don't actually read.

I've done very few review for review in my time on here, but the fact that I get involved in the community and make friends often help spread the word. For example, I have a few threads going where I encourage users to share their favorite stories, but also a thread where I offer to review users stories. None of which requires the user to do anything else than perhaps read my first post through to make sure that they advertise the right way.

There's many readers on here, however many are mobile users, and not even a member on wattpad. And many of those that are, would be what we like to call 'silent readers' they read, but don't really show that they did.

Some people never do a review for a review, but they offer help on the threads in the clubs, along with making friends that might turn out to be a great supporter to.

I personally never follow people whom I'm not interested in, which you can see if you go to my profile.

And as to how they get to read your stuff, basically there are different lists of what's hot, undiscovered etc. When you're on that list, people who browse through it will see your work.

Another thing is to add keywords or 'tags' that's relevant to your work. That way if someone searches for that word, for example 'wizard' and your work is tagged with it, then your story will show on the search too.

Also, people can add your story to a reading list, which is sort of like putting the work on a shelf for other to see.

There's a club, called 'Share Your Story' club, where you can advertise your own work, however it's often overrun with people that simply spam their stories on every thread out there, not bothering to even read the original post. Though, there is a few out there who just searches for stuff to read :)
