          He kissed my lips hurriedly. Hungrily. I savoured the feeling of his soft lips on mine; the feel of rose petals. Of heaven. 
          
          I smirked, and licked my lips; devouring the remnants of his taste and scent on me. His storm grey eyes tracked the movement.
          
          "Mine." I whispered in a rough voice. 
          
          "Yours." He smiled softly. 
          
          I was his squire. He was my knight. Everyone saw the gruesome man charging into battle; returning home covered in blood. I saw his shaking hands. I saw the tears he always forced not to fall. Every seemingly callous slaughter of life weighed on him. I saw it. Only I.
          
          He was to be wed to the Lady of Berkshire for his loyal services to the Crown over his thirteen years in the Guard. 
          
          If they knew of our love, they would scorn us. Expel us from noble society. This was what everyone like us had to do. Hide our love. 
          
          I slowly removed his sheathed sword. Then his helmet and neck guard. 
          
          My lips curved in a crooked smile, and I moved down to unbuckle his belt. His breath caught.
          
          Could Lady Gruger make him feel this way? Could she set his body on fire the way I could? Could she make him melt into a moaning mess within minutes?
          
          "Not now, Anatole, my darling ..." He whispered. "Mother is holding a champagne reception downstairs."
          
          "Well, then we'll just have to be quiet, won't we, my vocal little kitten?"
          
          My smirk widened as I watched his eyes widen and darken with lust.
          
          I remained kneeling in front of him, looking up at his beautiful face ... God help me, I wanted him. Every moment of every day. I wanted to wake up beside him. I wanted to leave marks and explore every inch of his beautifully olive-toned flesh. 
          
          He'd better decide soon, or I would take him anyway.
          
          He nodded.

"Just go!" He yelled at her. She took a small step back. Goofy, cheery her was nowhere to be found in that moment. All there was, was heartbreak. The blade of the dagger he had offered her only moments before to ask her to marry him cut into his palm. It had been a choice. Giving her complete power over him; owning him, by his own choice. The power to walk away too. She hesitated, and there they stood. She took a tiny step back. Tears slipped down his pale cheeks, and the heartbreak in the silvers of his eyes looked almost ethereal. She didn't know what to do. What to say. "Just go", he whispered in a broken voice. His hands dropped to his sides. Blood seeped through his fingers ...
