The prologue to my novel Wolvescreek. (Yes, his is the reason I took a break from LOTP)
Two creatures stood in a clearing. One a bloodsucker, one part wolf.
“Have we a bargain struck?” The bloodsucker asked.
“Aye,” the part wolf replied. “The vampires and werewolves shall hold a truce, until the Chosens arrive hence.”
“The foretelling doth bid it so,” the vampire looked up at the moon, its beauty bright and full. “Yet I do warn thee, should any cur of thine trespass upon our lands, we shall not scruple to slay.”
“Us too, certes,” the werewolf nodded. “Save for that, no blood hath flowed.”
“No blood hath flowed.”
The vampire and werewolf shook hands under the moon, the pact set in stone.
