I've entered Nescada's 8-chapter volume excerpt, House of Neotar, in the Inkitt’s "Echo of another world." writing competition, in honour of the stupendous Terry Pratchett and his classic Discworld novels!

I'll need as many votes as you can give me to make it to the next round of judging by the staff of Inkitt. I'm sure more stories will come along, but right now we're one of the TOP THREE stories with 88 votes so let's gain and maintain a lead they can never surpass.

Please share this story with your friends, family and fans on Facebook and Twitter, and let's see if we can win this thing! You can sign up with Facebook to avoid having to create an Inkitt account, and vote by clicking the heart icon on the story's page (It'll turn red when you do :3 ) Thank you so much for taking the time!

#‎ThisJustIn‬: You cannot know the excitement, and pleasure, it brings me to inform you that the tables for both Nescada and my hubby’s psychological fantasy, Subroutine, have been procured for ANIMEKON VI: FANTOPIA! The only thing that could make this more real is finishing the book itself. More on that down below, but for now let us bask in the glory of knowing the spots for our joint launch, under the new Knurly Pen, Inc. publishing brand, have been secured. We’re also stationed next to my kitty-in-law, Pinky Dadu, amazing Creator of HAH-BIT. This pleases kiki emoticon

#‎Update‬: The final chapter of Nescada: Kindler of Flames was completed on January 31st, 2015, deadline met. The epilogue and final word was typed early this morning at 7:43 a.m. Present word count: 112,280 words. Present page count: 450. Present chapters: 36 ... She's done. You may all now relax and breathe easy, knowing that I didn’t procure my Animekon Expo table in vain, and knowing too the reason behind the lack of page and website activity last week. The flow was unstoppable, and it all just came gushing out. Please accept my gratitude for your patience, while I make sure our girl is the prettiest one at the ball colonthree emoticon

#‎Promotionals‬: All page and blogging activities on our website and Facebook page will recommence from this week, starting with this evening's Outreach Bloc, The #‎PagonaORB‬, followed by blogging and #‎GaetwaighReviews‬ this weekend. Thanks again for your fanship and your interest in my work as an author. It means everything. That interest validates my story, and I cannot begin to express how much value it holds for me. So, thank you ... It really does mean everything. Now meet me in the Ythrosphyr ... we'll set you on fire – K. L. ~♥~

Hey there,

This is K. L. Abbott and this is the final edit of the House of Neotar volume from my upcoming science fantasy series, Nescada. This volume, one of six in the novel, has been freshly-edited by my wonderful editor, Nathalie Andrews of Girl and Cat Publishing, and newly-updated here on Wattpad. Following is the Editorial Feedback from GCP, which I share here to whet your palette for what lies within. Enjoy ^_^

The writing is really strong. You basically have everything you need: a fast-paced plot, strong, confident characterisation, good in-character dialogue and lots and lots of imagination and reality. That is the case throughout your work, but it is such a unique thing, as I so often read manuscripts that feel like they are copying what they have seen of someone's favourite genre.

Nescada, for me, is currently sitting in its own little niche (both a blessing and a curse with a first novel) because it straddles a fantasy/spiritual genre and also science fiction. There is a fabulous blending of magic and technology. It could almost be left up to the readership to decide how much is technology by a different name. how much is simply alien, and how much is the divine or the magical.

I'm on the edge of my seat for how all of these characters and events and places finally come together. I'm still a sucker for angst-ridden young men so I'm particularly interested in Dmitri's fate, but that really is purely subjective; I think you've done a great job on all the characters.

I'll be recommending you to many of my friends once it's done :)
