A Midwestern goblin with a penchant for collecting bugs, squealing at tiny mushrooms, and toppling under dreams larger than I can carry.

Some notes about me:

- I've been writing since before the internet existed, on a piece of notebook paper with a mechanical pencil, my wrist cramping and my hand turning gray with lead dust. I had big stories in my head. One of them is the novel you see here, "The Balance in Blood." Thirteen-year-old me is thrilled that you're here.

- Some of my ideas come from dreams I've had. I've had very vivid dreams for as long as I can remember. Something about Johnny Depp's head on a chicken comes to mind...
 
- I believe fantasy soundtracks are the best pathway to inspiring environment and emotion in your writing. Seriously, give Hans Zimmer (Interstellar, Gladiator), Howard Shore (The Lord of the Rings), and Joe Hisaishi (Studio Ghibli) a try. You can thank me later.
