Angela "LemurKat" Oliver was born and raised in New Zealand. She currently resides in the lovely  city of Christchurch with her husband and overactive imagination. Having achieved a degree in zoology and psychology, she went on to get a job working in a bookstore. And thus, her life revolves around books - she sells them, reads them and writes them. Her other hobbies involve drawing and she creates miniature works of art which she distributes around the world.

She has been writing since she was very small, but began participating sporadically in NaNoWriMo in 2002 and writing Pokemon and ElfQuest fanfiction before that. Her 2010 NaNo novel, "Aroha's Grand Adventure" is currently available in paperback and ebook from Amazon, and ebook from Smashwords and Kobo. She has two other published books: "A Midsummer Knight's Quest" and also "Fellowship of the Ringtails": epic fantasy, with lemurs, as well as various other stories at different stages of completion waiting on her hard-drive. Whilst she enjoys writing, she has found that generally around 90,000 words she begins to lose interest in the story...

Her other passions involve bird-watching; travelling; lemurs; illustrating (mainly wildlife but she'll draw other things too, including book covers - for a small fee); designing, but not reading, tarot cards; reading as much as she can and everything from chick-lit to literary, children's and fantasy. Her knowledge of thrillers and classics is, alas, sorely lacking. She does not like shopping, handbags, vampires (with a few exceptions) or badly written, but somehow popular, novels.

If asked, her favourite books would be named as "Watership Down", "The Katurran Odyssey" (If ever anyone wrote a book with Angela in mind, it would have been this one, the most beautiful book ever). Other favourite authors are Terry Pratchett, Juliet Marillier and Neil Gaiman.
