I just finished your story Werewolf’s Humanity and I really enjoyed it. I’m sorry that I’m not generally given to commenting on a story until the end. I don’t like being taken out of the story in order to make a comment, but I know to an author even a simple “liked it” would be good. I’m gonna hafta start doing that.
I really liked Sammy. I was touched by his self deprecating view of himself. Humility in a male so extra large is very likeable. I also liked that Sammy was just a regular dude, nothing really special about him except his optimism and hope, and his strong unshakable faith. You made a very ordinary Sammy and extraordinary hero due in large parts to those traits and how they both framed his thoughts and informed his choices.
I liked how you kept all his relationships relatively realistic. Some good elements to the relationships, some bad, some changing, some constant, but always evolving just like real life.
I was curious that the other boy in the BioPharm lab was never mentioned until he came back to the story in a big way. I felt like Sammy would have asked more about him, wondered about him. I know in the beginning Sammy would never do that, but I felt like he might have been very interested in reaching out the Benny because coping with their shared traumatic teen years would have helped them both.
I liked how this story felt almost like a series of captured moments in Sammy’s life. I liked the back and forth dialogue between Sammy and Donnie. When Sammy first met Reilly, his desperate desire to make a friend and the disastrous reaction he got, totally broke my heart.
These are some of the comments I should have left along the way, but my desire to keep reading over road my thoughts to leave comments. Also, I never remember to hit that star button. Your story will certainly go on my recommendation list.
Lastly, I totally LOVE your user name. Lethargic Action Hero....so freakin funny!
