The Girl and A Boy

It snows outside.
The bell tolls. 
The birds whisper.
The children sleep, 
And the girl skips.

Her cheeks are a rosy red,
Her eyes are the sky.
Her hair is raven's feathers,
Ink spilling down her shoulders. 
She wears a thin-knit shawl,
The color of bark
Her laugh is the wind, 
Her smile is the hearth,
And her words are the soft snow falling.

A boy sits silently in the white,
A piece of charcoal in his grubby hands
He wraps a blanket around himself
And continues to draw over ice. 
The girl stops in front of him,
Bends over to see what he is creating.
She smiles at him, then slips off her shawl
And pulls it down over his head. 

It's beautiful, she tells him.
Thank you, he replies.
The girl sits down next to the boy
And he gives her part of his charcoal.

Hi! I'm Anna--nice to meet you all, wherever you've come from. I'd like to give you a friendly welcome to Wattpad. This is an amazingly huge writing community, of which I still haven't seen all of since I entered the world of writing in 2014. The people whom I've met here are really encouraging and I'd like to give a shoutout to @JauntyJanan14, @LunaticFlame, and @NathonTrain for helping me throughout this maze of stories and starting me off in all their own unique ways. And, going against Nathan's wishes as always, read Unyielding Flames! It's an amazing book by Lunatic, Nathan and I wrote together--it's so weird to look back at that, originally being @LiseLise1212. Writing is an amazing creation and I'm more than happy to share my world with you. Good luck and thank you for sharing your worlds as well!
