Baking a cake is like having a crush. You do the cake batter just right, maybe adding a few things to make it better than just what it says on the back of the box. You see the batter rise in the oven slowly over time, getting higher and higher. Then once you bring it out you cut off the top that is uneven, you store it away not wasting it, letting it linger in your fridge. Then once you decorate it after cutting the top off to make it more appealing, you eat it. Eat it like it was never there before, yet you have proof, and that proof is that cake top. So maybe truly baking a cake is like having a crush, but eating a cake after doing so is like losing one.
