Lwando Rayi is a creative writer who was raised in several South African places after being born in Johannesburg to Monde Wilberforce Mxenge and Zoleka Adelaide Rayi. At the age of 10, he discovered his writing skills while attending Royal Christian Academy, which subsequently became Summit Christian Academy Primary School, in Grade 3. He was compelled to move to Durban to live with his grandmother and other family members after losing his mother when he was just one year old. Before relocating to Johannesburg to attend Summit Christian Academy Primary School, he lived in Durban for ten years. 2018 saw him go to King William's Town in the Eastern Cape. His mental health suffered from constantly moving, which had a negative effect. His mental health suffered from moving about a lot, which negatively affected how he saw himself and how he understood his identity. This was especially true at Toise Senior Secondary School, where he currently attends, where he struggles every day to get out of bed and go to school because of name-shaming. He is quite proud of the wonderful times in his life. He was recognized as the top comprehension writer in Grade 3 and won an award. He was among his school's most gifted athletes. He was also the best student in the class in 9th grade for Economic Management Science.
