@CarmenJohnson599 Originally I had separate deadlines for each story type, but like last year I opened it up for everyones' entries until the final deadline. So, yes, you're okay to write a short story at this point.

@MacabreMortem do i still have time to write a short story for this, or has the time passed for that?

Hello, MacabreMortem. I have a question about the writing prompt contest.

MasterBaker3

Thank you, @MacabreMortem. I'll give it a try.

@MasterBaker3 Novellas are usually about 20,000 to 40,000 words. I myself have written a couple of novellas, and the easiest process with that seems to be just being invested in the story. If you're invested in what you're writing, the word count will fill quickly.

If you find it to be too hard to write a novella still though, may I suggest a novelette? It's shorter than a novella but longer than a short story. (7,500+ words).

@MacabreMortem. I want to write a novella called Vengeful Strings, but I've never written one before because it's too difficult. Can you please give me some advice? Is there a specific word count?

@CarmenJohnson599 True, but even outside the competition, I did truly enjoy the read, so I thought I'd showcase it on here--especially since it featured one of our prompts.

@MacabreMortem I appreciate the votes, but Tiny Dancer missed the cut off date.
