At the time I wrote my note, I forgot to say who the sci-fi writer youe writing reminded me of... Marion Zimmer Bradley. I adored her writing for years. Your books lull me into the same place, being caught up in another world for the duration of the book. The characters become friends. I always felt sad to finish, until  there's another book, where I can be with my friends, again. (I get very involved in my books. )
