The Asear Tribe has always lived by ritual and loyalty to the gods. They guard the sacred lands of Mount Greyeg, and when the Queen of Xerzuala attempted to reclaim those territories, the Asear demanded the only compensation their customs allowed: a marriage. Their heir, Azule, was to be wed to her crown prince to secure power and alliance.
The Queen agreed and the arrangement was set. Azule would marry the Crown Prince of Xerzuala-an exchange meant to bind tribes and kingdom together under a single, inviolate oath.
But the arrangement did not last. The eleventh prince, Vaelith, notorious for his recklessness, indulgence and an inability to keep his robe on, began taking an interest in Azule. What started as a trivial infatuation escalated quickly, disrupting the careful plans of the crown, the tribe and Azule's life.
