Write characters that are flawed, real and human,           
That people can find a piece of themselves in.           
That they can sink their teeth and being into.           
That they can lose their hearts to.                    
And when you have your readers hook, line and sinker,                    
Make them see a world beyond their own.                    
Make them feel a thousand emotions.                     

Make them bleed.

Through careful manipulation and good story telling, you can get everyone to clap at the same time. To hopefully laugh at the same time. To be afraid at the same time. But, you can't get everyone to interpret the result in the same way. And that's thrilling to know -- that everyone will see it differently.
