Okay so I feel really talentless rn and I really really want a talent so I'm now forcing myself up get back to writing my book (the irl one) but I'm gonna probably end up posting alot of questions in here so this is my first couple. What's better. Reading in 1st or 3rd person? Is the pov switching between characters annoying or okay? Is it better to drag on the backstory and describe everything in detail or have more dialogue? (Sorry if this is kind of cringe ig but I kind of feel like writing is one of the only things I'm remotely good at so I really wanna try and get in a reader's head ifykwim :) )
Omg thank you sm this is a big help I really appreciate it!!! One last question sorry but just since you mentioned readers can get confused about the pov do you think I should write the name of who's pov it is at the top of the page or would taht make it look like a wattpad story cause I really wnat it to be like a real book not a wattpad story cause that would be the worst insult I get lmao
of course! i’m glad you’re gonna try again, i’ll be excited to see the result! don’t force yourself to do too much though, take care of yourself and remind yourself of what you want, not what you think you want. kywim? anyways. 1. i personally enjoy 1st person better. i like getting in the head of the character, it helps me understand what they’re going through. 2. i find it fine, as long as the chapters are just long enough. i’d say at least about 6-7 pages each pov. that way, you can’t still switch, but if it happens too much readers can get confused. just be careful with how you do it. 3. i say have a backstory. that way readers can refer back to it instead of rereading a bunch of dialogue lines. i hope this goes well for you!

Okay so the book I said I was writing irl I'm not going to be publishing because for some reason today I realised I no longer like reading or writing or drawing or literally any of the hobbies I've done my entire life. I'm not sure what happened but yeah I just thought I'd put it on here.
Yeah I have no idea what happened but I hate everything now. I cant even find any music i like
Hey so I'm writing a book irl and if I publish it and post the name of it on here would people wanna read it? It's a horror with a side of romance that switches from different characters pov
