I will have a short break this upcoming week, then two very large research papers to complete afterward. With hope, I will have a chapter or two done before then.

You will find that there may be some slower chapter posting as I make time to continue to edit and revise. I have to work around having a full-time job, being a parent, and college student. However, I am dedicated to finishing this book and will not be leaving anyone who is interested hanging as far as getting it finished, it may just take longer than I had planned.

I’m in the middle of rewriting Chapter 1 right now. Smoothing out anything that feels clunky and fixing spots where the flow stumbles. I’m also doing a full grammar check as I go. Once this pass is done, I’ll post the chapter, and after that I’ll give it one more quick read just to catch any repeated words or stray commas I missed. It’s taking a little longer than I planned, but when it goes up, it’ll be clean, polished, and easy to read.

I think I have finally found the sweet spot for the book cover I want.

That being said, because apparently I enjoy testing the limits of my own sanity, I did in fact rewrite the prologue again. This was done with the assistance of my janky keyboard that likes to type in random places like it has its own unfinished side quest, so if you see a typo, please let me know.

And I say this with all the confidence of a baby deer on ice: I will not rewrite any part of this book again after I publish it this time.

Again, I am telling myself this.

I will not rewrite any part of this book after I publish the chapter again.

I’ve finally carved out a little space to breathe ink again. The hours fought me, as they always do, pulling me back toward that old habit of tearing everything down just to start from the rubble. Still, the prologue has been broken open and rebuilt, expanded, sharpened, its pulse steadier now. With any luck, the flow runs truer this time, the way it always should have.
