Storytelling is an important part of human connection. Through writing and reading, we practice empathy and vulnerability. We worry about the main character, we feel what they feel, and they have our full attention as the pages turn. In a sense, reading is caring. Even if the story is comedy or horror there is still a deep connection with the protagonist. This is why I love writing, and will continue to write and read whether or not it ever becomes a full-time profession for me.

My work usually has one overarching similarity: Time.

Most of my writing takes place in a different time period. My favorite right now seems to be 20s-60s, though I have gone as far back as the Salem Witch Trials. I usually have to do research before I start my opening sentence. This means I try to be as accurate to the era as I can with a little creative flexibility since my stories are fictional. This does not mean that there are no true/based on true components though!
