I truly cannot understand or accept the idea of portraying someone who commits such acts as worthy of love, marriage, or forgiveness in a casual or glorified way. There is nothing romantic or acceptable about assault. it is violence, it is abuse, and it should never be treated as a plot device or a step toward “love” in any story.
