(Cutely) I wrote an action story (using Mr Cheese) on a whim, it’s short so I wanted to put it here and had to copy and paste it
Mr Cheese crawled away on bleeding knees.
The impact of the fall sent radiating pain throughout his body. He kept going, even as greenery shoved itself into his wounds and made the sting worse.
Mr Cheese's only motivation was getting away from the car. He noticed the trees thickening around him and realized he shouldn't stray too far from the road. He was somewhere other people were.
He changed his direction, although it took effort. He tried to stand up, and got half way up.
Behind the layer of trees he'd dragged himself through was the road, and he caught glimpses of the asphalt every few drags of his feet.
His hand still held the flimsy string that had saved his life. He grasped the simple thing like a good luck charm.
Mr Cheese felt rumbling in the ground. A different car going drove past him. The reverberation and the pain of lost hope sent shockwaves through his body and blood poured from his mouth.
He was somewhere other people were.
Mr Cheese tried to get closer to the road, even though he knew visibility was a double-edged sword.
The world hadn't been kind, but hopefully, the people who would find him were.
Mr Cheese had no idea how much time passed. Another car drove past him. He believed he was going to die. He kept going.
The next car stopped.
Mr Cheese gripped the string between his fingers. Someone had seen him. Pathetically, his resolve went out at the first sign of help. The last thing he saw was the trail of red leading away from him.
The people had been kind. He woke up in a hospital, a real one.
It wasn't difficult to give him medical help.
However, the staff, the records, the police, all agreed something was wrong.
Because Mr Cheese was a dead man.
