@Rocker29173 well for instant, buck really wanna make sure he is the only hero of sunyshore city while volkner and flint crumble into pieces. Have no respect for them anymore. Become ranger was just a stepping stone to be stronger than helping people which is why buck in pokemon ranger.
            
            Benga never raised entirely by alder that ghetsis think he failed as grandson. Benga always wanted someone to support him. Ghetsis the one who raising him more than alder which showing that even though ghetsis is more cruel and evil, sometime he have soft spot for benga as well which is why benga is the perfect version of alder who wanted make unova less arrogant and boasting to themselves. Showing that even unova trainer could change unova history of other region culture battle style. He just wished to beat up alder and peeing on him for abandon him since he was a baby.

For world coronation series will be canon as well...but uhh it's just semi-tournament plan after paldea arc..the tournament of legend still a main tournament for every 40 bloodthirsty trainer and their pokemon. 
          
          For tournament of legend will be different because it will be 40 trainers round robin tournament and additional with appeal round too where 40 of them must do contest stage...
          
          The appeal round also will give extra point for them to win the tournament of legends too.
