Hello, everyone!
This is the author of SAS, and I wanted to share some thoughts about the story.
It has been a long time since I last updated. I kept telling myself I was busy with personal life and work, but I knew that wasn’t a good enough reason. I’ve always been someone who tries to finish what I start, especially the stories I publish. I truly wanted to give this book the ending I had imagined from the beginning.
So what caused the long hiatus?
Honestly… I was slowly falling out of the K-Pop fandom.
It wasn’t sudden, but something felt bitter. The Korean entertainment industry kept getting more toxic. Parts of it were trying too hard to act American, normalizing things like racism and pedophilia, while others felt so out of touch and lacking empathy.
Just when I thought I should push through and continue because I loved writing this fic, the W Korea event happened. I won’t go into detail, but I encourage you to look it up. Not a single celebrity apologize. Not even BTS.
That was my last straw. I didn’t want to keep writing fanfics about celebrities who don’t care about people like me, and who couldn’t even show basic empathy at an awareness event they chose to attend.
So I’m sorry if this disappoints or offends anyone, but I also want to protect the younger fans who read these stories and imagine kindness from idols who might not actually offer it.
I’ve decided to drop this fanfiction.
Writing this has been a wonderful experience, and I’ve met many great friends through it. This was one of my favorites to work on, especially because I loved creating a female lead who was batshit crazy.
Thank you to everyone who supported me over the last two years. You’ve been amazing.
I might rewrite this story into a similar love dynamic someday, because I still can’t let go of Ha Ryo that easily.
Thank you once again for everything. See ya!
