I pretty much only read completed stories because I have started too many incomplete stories that end up abandoned, on permanent hiatus, etc and ended up heartbroken that I will never be able to finish. I have on a rare occasion started a story not knowing it was incomplete, and have sat, waiting impatiently (😉), for the author to update because the story and the writer's style have completely seized my attention and sucked me in.

For the authors checking out my profile:
It is possible that I left a comment that might be construed as harsh. Please know that I am the type of reader who gets immersed in the world you have created. More often than not, I am disgruntled regarding the actions/words of a character and am expressing my feelings at your character as if he/she were a real person, instead of towards you as the author. 
I am also the type of person who will point out grammar flaws, especially if requested. This is not meant to come off as rude, just trying to help. If I see that other people have pointed out an error, I typically do not. However, if I see that people have pointed out errors months/years back, but you have not corrected them (often times, even after thanking the person for pointing it out), I will stop pointing them out.

Also, if I am reading something that has been posted as the poster's own work but it looks familiar to something I have read before, I will search it out. If it turns out the story has been stolen, I will contact the actual author and report the person claiming the work as their own. Stealing someone else's work is disgusting and never acceptable.

I don't mind people asking me to check out their stories, however -
**I don't read 'mature' stories.**  
I am an adult, but chose not to read stories with explicit sexual content.
