I update at least once a week unless something comes up. Even then I try to give a fair warning of what's going on. I'm still in school, so if I seem to disappear off the face of the Earth that's why.  My biggest piece of advice if your a writer is to focus on one book at a time unless you enjoy making your readers wait for your next update.

Last night he talked his friend out of suicide.

See that young boy you had made fun of for always being sick?
He has to walk home in the snow because his family is too poor.

The girl you just called fat?
She is overdosing on diet pills.

The girl you just called ugly?
She spends hours putting makeup on hoping people will like her.

The boy you just tripped?
He is abused enough at home.

See that man with the ugly scars?
He fought for his country.

That guy you just made fun of for crying?
His mother is dying.
