I've been a long-time reader on Wattpad (I used to read without an account), but up until 2013, my focus was solely on academic writing and research. It wasn't until a late-night conversation with a friend, who encouraged me to try fiction writing, that I decided to give it a go-and I found that I really enjoyed it, both fanfiction and original works.

Life has been quite hectic, though. I would often start a fanfiction or an original story, only to scrap it and rewrite it because I wasn't satisfied with how it turned out. Sometimes, I'd even abandon a project to start something entirely new. My academic work always took precedence, and the constant demands of producing scholarly writing left little room for creative pursuits.

These days, I'm still writing for academia, but not as much as before. I've even considered publishing a collection of my academic papers from what I've managed to keep digitized.
