Steampunk. The past. The future. The present. All of these come together to make me who I am. I was born in Toronto, Ontario, and have lived in several provinces and countries during my life. After working with the poor and homeless, I began a second career in education, and my proudest accomplishment is teaching children to read and write. Family stories about a chimney sweep who became a self-made man, chars, chandlers, and watermen spurred me on to wider reading in the social phenomena of the 19th century. Throughout all of this, I have read anything and everything... and a few years ago I started to write too... it all comes together: the past + the future = steampunk. The present + social work = social commentary. I've written short stories, novellas and full-length novels in these areas and more. Over the next few weeks and months, I'll be uploading more stories.
