She tugged on my shirt.
“Please marry me. Please please please.”

          	The aunts burst into laughter.
Some uncles wiped tears from their eyes because they were laughing too hard.

          	And me?
          	I was suddenly shy.
          	Too shy.

          	“No!” I said quickly.
“I will not marry with a short girl.”

          	Her mouth opened in shock.

Then, determined like the little storm she always was…
She climbed a big stone nearby, stood on it proudly, and said,

“Look! I’m not short now. Marry me!”

I shook my head, trying not to smile.
          	“No. No, no—”

Suddenly, she leaned forward and planted a quick kiss on my cheek.

          	Warm.
          	Soft.
          	Unexpected.

          	“I kissed you,” she announced.
          	“Now marry me!”

          	My whole face turned red.
I froze, tiny hands curled at my sides, heart thumping harder than a drum.

          	The adults laughed again.

Just then both our grandparents arrived.

“Grandpa!” Luna ran to hers immediately.
“He is not marrying me! I want him! You tell him marry me!”

She looked so small, so stubborn, so sure her grandfather could fix all her problems.

          	Everyone chuckled softly.

My grandma patted my shoulder and said,
“Lim, don’t tease her. She loves you so much. Just say you will marry her.”

          	I looked at Luna.

She was staring up at me with the most dangerous weapon in the universe—
          	Her puppy eyes.

          	Big.
          	Shiny.
          	Hopeful.

          	I sighed.
          	“Okay…”

She squealed so loud birds flew from the mango tree.

Then she ran back to me, hugged me tightly, and kissed my cheek again.

“Now give me your chocolate!” she demanded happily.

And like the fool in love I always was—
I gave her everything I had.

She sat cross-legged on the ground, eating my chocolate with messy hands…
Smiling like she owned the world.

“Keifer,” I warned, backing up slightly.

He stopped just inches away, his voice dropping to a husky whisper. “You used profanity again.”

          “Don’t you dare—”

Too late. He leaned in, clearly about to steal another kiss.

I quickly put my hand over my lips. “You already kissed me like— to to six to seven  times since morning!” I mumbled through my fingers.

He tilted his head, pretending to think. “Eight, actually,” he corrected softly, smirking wider. “But I don’t mind breaking my own record.”

“Keifer!” I hissed, glaring up at him.

He just grinned — that wicked, heart-stopping grin — and before I could protest further, he wrapped his arm around my waist, pulling me flush against him.

Chapter 28 is in progress guyssss:^)

          Hey @Nephophile-n6v!
I just wanted to say your book is honestly one of the most beautiful things I’ve read ✨ The way you write, the emotions, everything. it just hits so perfectly I was wondering if you could share a little about how you managed to get so many reads and votes? I really admire you and your work so much, and it’d mean the world to get even a tiny bit of advice from you
          And GET WELL SOON!

@ananya_singh_ yea i always vote before reading too

@Nephophlie-n6v yeah, but like the problem is that people do read, but they don't vote.
I barely recive any votes. Though the views do increase.
It's just you know, kind of irritating, cuz I spend almost my whole day just to write one chapter.
Ans if any reader asks for another chapter. I need to spend another 2-3 hrs planning the chapter and then writing it.
I guess even you feel the same when they don't vote or comment.
As a reader, I always prefer to vote first then read the chapter
It's just needs to reach the right crowd I guess.
But thank you so much for your advice ❤

Hello author sorry for posting without permission but please do read my story

Saloni Malhotra finds solace in two things: the pages of her dark romance novels and her dream of a career. But in a home where her worth is measured by her skin tone and her obedience, her dreams are a luxury she can't afford. When her family forces her into an arranged marriage, she expects a life of quiet misery.

Suryansh Ranvijay Randhawa is a billionaire tycoon known for his ruthless heart of ice. His only soft spot is his four-year-old daughter, Samaira. When his mother gives him an ultimatum-find a wife or one will be chosen for him-he makes a cold, calculated decision. He will marry, but it will be a business transaction. Nothing more.

Their worlds collide in a marriage neither wanted.

He offered a contract. But love had other plans.

Can a gentle bookworm melt the heart of a man who believes love is a weakness? Can a man haunted by his past learn to trust the woman his mother chose?

And when a secret from Suryansh's past threatens to destroy everything, will their marriage of convenience shatter-or become the one thing that saves them both?

This is a story of clashing worlds, unexpected love, and the healing power of a little girl's smile.
