          Annie's lack of compassion for anyone other than herself--that's actually her biggest character flaw. She's quite selfish. That changes, but it's a very gradual transformation. She actually explicitly addresses how selfish she was later in the story. In the later chapters, and especially during the climax, you'll see Annie do a complete 180 from how she is now. But when I start revisions, I'll make sure to revisit this. Thank you for letting me know it was awkward!

Thanks very much for the comment on Stray! :) I really appreciate the feedback! I'll go back and work on the emotions. I know they're a bit bipolar through the story. 
          As for the kiss thing, she really IS completely disgusted by it. Just keep reading, and you'll see how it plays out. :)
