          I have some exciting news: Water & Sand won 'Best First Sentence' in The Amuse Bouche Contest.
          
          I'm grateful for the reward and the incredibly thoughtful review that came with it. Every writer hopes the story they're trying to tell is the one readers resonate with. Reading your words, @writerforthehopeless, meant a great deal to me. Thank you so much to for taking the time to write such a generous review, and the effort of putting together the competition.  The winner's badge is also beautifully rendered!!
          
          On another note, Parts I and II of Water & Sand have now been woven back together into a single novel for the Wattys. It feels right that their story is whole again.

Sorry for being a little quiet, but I’m happy to announce that Water & Sand Part II is now complete!
          
          It has also reached over 2,000 reads. Thank you so much to everyone who has read, commented, voted, and followed along with Alden and Teia’s mythic, moody saga thus far. This part of their story took me somewhere deeper and more emotional than I expected.
          
          I blame Fate, and the myth, though the characters did the rest.
          
          In the same breath, I also want to thank the readers of Water & Sand Part I, which has now reached 4K reads. It has been such a joy writing about Teia and Alden’s journey from sunlit Naples to all the complicated places Fate carried them afterward.
          
          I’m not sure I’m ready to let go of my muses just yet.

A small posting note from me today.
          
          I’m sorry for the sudden flurry of chapters. I’m releasing multiple updates because I’m trying to get Water & Sand (Part 2) ready in time for the Watty's.
          
          Since the expected ONC longlist date has come and gone with no news yet, I’m leaning toward submitting Part 2 on its own rather than waiting to combine Parts I and II into one submission.
          
          That said, I am still thinking it through, so if you have any Wattpad/Watty's wisdom, I would genuinely love to hear it.

Yesterday, I spent my birthday in water and on actual sand, which, as a Cancer girlie, means I was very much in my element.
          
          Then Water & Sand (Part 1) made the NanoWatt Novella Longlist. Honestly, how much better can a day get when Fate is handing you metaphors? To a writer?
          
          Teia’s day, on the other hand, is beginning to feel like Fate is getting a little too carried away with the symbolism.
          
          Chapter 20, “Broken Things,” is up today. There is a moody, mythic abandoned castle, white bulls, and two “friends” with ancient history who may need some adult supervision. Fortunately, Susan has landed in Milan.
