Yall…
So…
I don’t have this in my bio…
But I’m a competitive dancer (specializing in tap dance) and this week was nationals, which is partially why I haven’t been updating Avians because I’m dead tired all the time.
BUT
Little bit about the dance world
The convention (NRG Dance Project) goes to a bunch of regional cities each year. The tap teacher, Brittany, selects tap dancers from her class and has her audition for what’s called the ElectroTap scholarship.
The scholarship means that the convention is free for the dancer and you get to follow Brittany around all weekend and assist in the tap classes in all age groups.
Then there’s Nationals which was this past week.
The ElectroTap Dancers (which I came here as one) get to audition for the National Title of National ElectroTap Dancer. It’s a whole audition process that takes a while to explain so I’ll skip past that.
ANYWAY. At the end of the week there’s a Gala, where all dancers who earned scholarships get to perform and see what goes down.
Now the ElectroTap dancers have their own routine in the Gala and after we performed we all got into a straight line as they announced the TWO national electrotap dancers.
There were six of us that auditioned out of the 12 that were there.
WHEN I TELL YOU I CRIED AFTER I WON THE THING I MEAN LIKE LEGIT TEARS.
THIS IS THE HAPPIEST IVE BEEN IN A LOOOOONG TIME.
Ngl this was a super big goal for me that I’ve been working towards for YEARS
The dance community I have is amazing.
Anywayyyy sorry for the ranttt. But I needed to get that out somewhere
