I've moved ALL of my works to https://www.inkitt.com/DPJr as a result of the constant issues related to wattpad that hinders my work. I will not be returning unless wattpad fixes the following issues:
Allow formatting to carry over into the submission system - particularly the chapter editor. I refuse to spend HOURS editing for visibility on-site, when a simple edit elsewhere would fix the problem in 5 minutes. Sadly, such edits do not carry over into the site editor, making submissions of whole books that I've done, impossible to read clearly, without spending hours adding in paragraph breaks that I shouldn't have to add.
Fix the problem of copy/paste deleting spaces between words - as it is right now, any time I want to submit a work, I have to copy/paste to a completely different program (wordpad), backspace the last paragraph, and then copy/paste that new 'file' into the editor. If I don't do this, wattpad's editor erases spaces between words more often than not.
Needless to say, as long as I've been on wattpad, I've been having problems with the site. I thought I would return, after leaving, to hopefully give the site another chance, but the issues have actually gotten worse in the past year or so.
As a writer, I don't have time to work around these kinds of problems, and I certainly shouldn't have to. The site listed above has none of these issues, and I've yet to have a truly negative experience with their interface, as I have here on wattpad, therefore, I will be using it above wattpad.
If wattpad staff see this, they'll at least know why I've left, and have no intention of returning in the foreseeable future. Maybe they'll fix all these dumb issues that keep popping up.
Staff: Your competitors are making you look like you don't know what you're doing. Moreover, you haven't helped your own reputation either. These are issues that have existed for years. Wattpad does a good job turning serious writers away from itself.
