@Okamiprincess15 thank the Lord for YouTube lol. Thanks for all of this amazing info! Can definitely incorporate some of this (especially the little things about Shadow and coffee lol). It’s been a long time since I’ve kept up with the fandom and all of the games, so this is a huge help. <3

@sargasso8 Oh, and don’t forget to check out all the NPC dialogue in Shadow Generations. Otherwise you’ll miss things like Sonic Team covering their butts in regards to Shadow’s agency when Gerald tells Shadow near the end of the game that Maria’s wish is a nice one, but to not let that be all that Shadow lives for, and that Gerald wanted Shadow to live for himself and fulfill his full potential.
            
            Or learning that Shadow absolutely LOVES coffee, (I can’t help but imagine Shadow insisting he doesn’t have a caffeine addiction but Rouge listing examples that contradict that, or Shadow actually hissing like an actual real life ticked off hedgehog when someone tries to take his coffee away from him. Yes hedgehogs do hiss and spit like cats when angry, they even purr like cats too. Though funnily enough hedgehogs make a quacking noise when they’re stuck in something or hungry as a low level distress noise) and used to procrastinate on homework assignments (I have a sneaking suspicion he did that due to not seeing the point when he’d likely just end up being used solely as a weapon by GUN if Maria got cured of her NIDS. Which is a depressing thought.).
            
            I think it’s because Shadow Generations had a smaller budget so they could only do so many cutscenes, which is annoying but understandable.
            
            The npcs each get three new things to say after each boss fight, so you have to go back and check with each of them after defeating a boss so you don’t miss anything. Luckily there are videos on YouTube of all the npc dialogue so you can look for them there.

@sargasso8 My favorite character? In terms of just the games that would obviously be Shadow (although recently Ian Flynn has been writing Omega to have some amazingly hilarious dialogue. “Face me, inferior models!” “I call dibs!” “*whiney tone* I wanted to destroy that!” *giggles*).
            
            In terms of the IDW comic characters? I have come to adore Surge the Tenrec after the Riders arc (issues #69 to #75).
            
            Though admittedly I love them both nearly the same amount, with a somewhat razor thin margin.
            
            Storylines? My favorite from the games is currently Shadow Generations, but my all time favorite has to be the Metal Virus arc (issues #13 to #29) from the IDW comics. The one sticking point for me and a lot of other people in regards to it, is that it was written before the SEGA mandates on Shadow were loosened, so Shadow was still kind of an arrogant jerk at that point. Though thankfully not long after the mandates were finally loosened, and Shadow starts to get better characterization the next time he shows up.
