The other day, my mum asked me something funny. She wanted to know why I get so excited about books. And I told her—I don’t get excited about books. I get excited about stories.
          	
          	Call me cringe or whatever else you’re thinking, but reading is my escape. The moment I turn a page, I’m no longer in my room stressing over exams, no longer stuck in the living room with the TV blaring at full volume, no longer in the car watching the same streets blur past. That’s the thing—I’m no longer there.
          	
          	Instead, I’m wherever the author takes me, in a world that isn’t mine, living a life that isn’t mine. And for a little while, reality—the stress, the pressure, the suffocating weight of it all—fades away. I’m not just watching someone else’s life. I’m feeling it. Experiencing it. Living it.
          	
          	So yeah, I get excited about reading. Not because I’m an introvert. Not to seem smart. But because, in those fleeting moments, I get to see the world through someone else’s eyes. I get to connect with them in a way only stories can allow.
