To all the authors on Wattpad - take note of the following.
I am from South Africa and have noticed that I get plenty of responses from people claiming that they have read my book/s, how wonderful it is and that they can help me to promote it.
When I looked at their profiles, I noticed that nearly all of them are recently created, with hardly any info in their profiles, etc.
Furthermore, when I look at the stats of my books, I see Nigeria as one of the places where most of my followers and readers are originating from.
Lastly, their grammar is not good at all.
In short, I therefore assume that most of them are from Nigeria. I do not claim that all of them are scammers or anything relating to that, just that you have to be cautious who you trust your money, time and expertise with.
          	Happy writing everyone!

I have been reading up a lot about the Wattpad platform and also read comments of people, etc.
Looks like one of the biggest frustrations for authors are the discovery of their work on it.
This platform is a tortoise race and not a horse race to eventually be recognised and get a lot of followers, reviews, likes, etc.
Because there are now so many millions of books published on here, it is near impossible to grow quickly, even if you have excellent material on offer.
But don't despair. Keep writing, keep posting, interact with fellow authors and update frequently and you will grow and one day your books might just be a runaway success.
This in short, hope it help those who are new and even those that still struggle to grow.
          Happy writing and reading!

It’s all about patience. And promoting your stuff elsewhere too. It helps.

Just for the fun of it, I allowed AI to create a lot of "steamy" short romance stories, to see how it goes. I will upload it soon and hopefully, it will be good enough to serve as an inspiration for some and provide ideas for authors out there who want to use it to write their own stories.
The AI actually did a splendid job with the stories, but once you have read about ten stories, you realize that it is very similar in writing detail to each other. That is the biggest hurdle of story writing by AI currently and that is creativity to, for example, write a kissing scene totally different every time.
However, I believe it will not be long before it also overcomes that hurdle and writes excellent stories in every way. Then it will be a matter of two good stories, one was human written and the other AI, and both of them are a pleasure to read and enjoy.
What are your thoughts on this? I know there are a lot of anti-AI people out there, but I believe in technology and embrace it as life continues to go forward and cannot stagnate at one place. There are way more positives than negatives with AI in all of its different flavors of technology, and that I concentrate on and enjoy.
