@Probs_reading_ I was raised (literally. have I said yet that my dad had me playing rpg-type games from basically the moment I could talk?) playing with minis and maps, though our minis were little squares of paper with pictures on them, so it's what I'm used to and what I like. We also didn't have very strong characters ever, so I never really cared about matching my character and my mini... but I feel like, if I had a strong image of what my character was supposed to look like in my head before playing, it might bother me a little to not have them match. Maps mean you can have rules for movement and do funky stuff with that, so I like them. I understand being overly perfectionistic. I took a break in the middle of writing this to go to church, so sorry if it feels disjointed, lol.
