I love cats but I am scared of dogs. Their sharp teeth and the way they bark every time they see me makes me feel like they see me only as a piece of meat that they just want to bite into.
I was born in Africa.  It seems like everyone has misconceptions about Africa, so I will try to clear it up here. 
Right now, Ebola is the main cause of concern. I have heard a lot of people blame Africans and they say that Africans should just stay in their country. I want to say that a person with a reasonable conscience would not knowingly come to America with Ebola. I just want people to consider the fact that maybe the person who came to America with Ebola did not know he had contracted the disease until it was too late. I am not trying to rebuke anyone. I am just stating my opinion.

Staring at the bodies in the morgue, I feel bile rise up from the depths of my body. I quickly evade my gaze to look at the tiles in the blindingly  white room. I loathe my job as the person who transports the bodies to the lab for testing. Most of the bodies I transport are needed at the lab to determine the cause of death. As my stomach settles down and I am about to resume working, my colleague, Jack strolls in with a somber, pitying look that is aimed at me. I raise my eyebrows in a WHAT HAPPENED way. I wish I had just left the matter alone because the answer to that question is my undoing.

"Abby, I'm sorry to be the one who has to break the bad news to you, but your parents have just passed away."
