I don't remember a time when I didn't write. Even before I understood letters, I scratched out what I believed was script across lined pages. On long car rides, my little brother would beg me to tell him stories about "CandyLand" which bore a striking resemblance to the board game. I wrote my first complete story when I was about nine. It was about Timmy and his friends, a bunny and a cat. Timmy, the bunny (named BunBun) and the cat were all made of Lego's. I included illustrations.
I finished my first novel in the 8th grade and didn't complete another until I was in my mid-twenties. But I never stopped writing. It's in my soul, it sparks my blood. When I go too long without writing, my brain feels like a storm waiting to pour down on a page.
So that's what brings me here today. Writing, as much as it can be a solitary activity, I find is better when shared.
I've been a long time member at fictionpress but have been looking for a site with a bit more sophistication. Perhaps this will be my new online home.
