I'm putting it out there that I desperately need a GOOD BETA and proofreader.
There's only so much I can do alone.

I put out both OVERQUALIFIED and RHAPSODY IN BLUE knowing there are definitely angles that can be tightened to make them feel satisfying to me.
I keep that Ira Glass quote close to my heart...

__Nobody tells this to people who are beginners, I wish someone told me. All of us who do creative work, we get into it because we have good taste. But there is this gap. For the first couple years you make stuff, it’s just not that good. It’s trying to be good, it has potential, but it’s not. But your taste, the thing that got you into the game, is still killer. And your taste is why your work disappoints you. A lot of people never get past this phase, they quit. Most people I know who do interesting, creative work went through years of this. We know our work doesn’t have this special thing that we want it to have. We all go through this. And if you are just starting out or you are still in this phase, you gotta know its normal and the most important thing you can do is do a lot of work. Put yourself on a deadline so that every week you will finish one story. It is only by going through a volume of work that you will close that gap, and your work will be as good as your ambitions. And I took longer to figure out how to do this than anyone I’ve ever met. It’s gonna take awhile. It’s normal to take awhile. You’ve just gotta fight your way through.__

Contact me on one of the bigger spaces I've established on the linktee.
Instagram and Facebook, are the ones I'm at the most.

If you're interested... Tell me the best and worst thing about a work that's still up here, so we can both go YES!! EXACTLY!! now what can I do to work through it?

Remember, OVERQUALIFIED will be free this Labor Day weekend, on Kindle Unlimited and off.

I am finally in the publishing stage for two works that have been here for a good loooong while and... I'm working on ASHWOOD ACADEMY as well.

Both OVERQUALIFIED and RHAPSODY IN BLUE are in the final stages of being published on Kindle Unlimited.

Hopefully, they will be up by 09/02/2026.

I realized that I'm closing in on a big birthday milestone and decided to bite the bullet.

           Imperfections be damned.

I don't want to leave this earth without having done this.

So, I hope dear readers, you'll leave a review on Amazon, or add to your Kindle on Unlimited.

And thank you for the many, many, years of support.

I intend to also continue to develop what I have here, for that big birthday milestone.

          Thank you, all!

Still here.
          Still struggling.

It's hard out here. I still feel odd about the limited ethical places to post my work.

I don't want to do the Kindle thing, but with this awful administration, I feel it's wise to have a second space to shore up for incidentals.

I'm looking at Patreon and Reamstories as possible spaces to shift to, as even Facebook feels foul to me.

          I'll keep you posted.

If you have any suggestions, I am all ears.

@RaeWhite so glad to see you are still somewhat present, sad to hear you aren't in the highest of spirits. I would suggest team as I've heard bad things about Patreon (though I've never had problems myself) but personally I'm not a fan of Reaam's interface. It's a little frustrating to use but maybe I'm at fault since I use web. It's not a bad choice though.

Hey Rae just checking on you to see how the New Year has been treating you so far. I hope you're getting the things published that you wanted. Just please don't forget about us here, cause we appreciate and love your creativity just the same. Off to start Work Wife. Hopefully we'll see you soon.

Long time no see, eh?

Well, I've bitten the bullet and swallowed my fears and made the leap to creating a Facebook page for my work.

The goal is to publish well before Christmas. I am aiming for Friday, the 13th. Hopefully, that'll be a lucky day for me.

Between my depression around the holidays and just plain trying to find a place of contentment and security for myself despite chronic health issues...

...It's been rough going. But hey, that's life.

I know many of you have plenty of challenges of your own.

We all have to keep going!

I realize, I have allowed this to fall by the wayside and if I continue to rest on my depression, my lacking motivation, and my fears... I will never progress.

As of now, there is a Canadian stand-up comedienne named Rae White high in the google search results, so I have chosen Mae Morreux as my publishing pseudonym.

I have narrowed my focused goal to streamlining and editing my finished works to be published widely on a few e-book platforms, before Christmas.

Both of these, I consider novellas, so I'll set the price at a reasonable "candy bar" price-point, since both works are mere treats when it comes to reading time and they've been read (without a final polish for grammar and smoother plotlines/reading).

Anyway, I would very much appreciate any who have enjoyed me here following my Facebook page or leaving a review...

If you buy? You are the shiniest of gems and it is much appreciated. :)

With Abundant Love and ALL the Joy For Black Women,

          -RW (and now, Mae Morreux)

I'm fairly new to Wattpad and found your story about Kay and Max. You are very talented. I genuinely hope things got better for you over the years and you will eventually find your way back here to complete what can become masterpieces. Nevertheless, thanks for sharing some of your art with us

@RaeWhite Absolutely. I'm a hugger so sending you nothing but warm hugs . Not sure what your days are like but even if it's in the bathroom take a lil extra 5 or 10mins for yourself to just breathe and recenter. Remember as much as things can go wrong, they can go right even when we don't know why they went wrong in the first place
