Greetings WP friends. I know it probably seems like I fell off the face of the earth and am no longer working on Cascadia, but I am here to assure you that is the furthest thing from the truth. This summer has been busy and I've been more than a little overwhelmed with work and focusing on my family these last few months. However, that crazy rollercoaster has finally slowed and I am ready to jump back into Keana's world with full dedication. 
          	
          	A few things to note: I will be unpublishing chapters and republishing them. During my hiatus I have had little chance to write much new material but I have had an opportunity to go over what I've written so far and have decided to make some adjustments to the story. 
          	
          	First, I will be breaking up chapters into smaller more Wattpad digestable sizes. Second, I will be rearranging some things - particularly flashbacks - to consolidate the story into a better flow. I am also giving myself space to write and publish at a decent pace without burning myself out or having to go back to fix so many things. New chapters will come out when they are ready and I will stay consistent but the 1-a-week was untenable so it might be a little longer in between. Quality over quantity. 
          	
          	But with that said, I am finally ready to jump back into Cascadia with both feet and continue to explore the worlds of Keana, Avid, Mia and Grimm. I hope you all will join me on this journey .

@SarahQuinnMcGrath I am back. I’ve been on the writing struggle bus trying everything to get back to writing. Been so blocked up lately I’ve gone into isolation and tried a retreat but ultimately what worked is throwing up my hands and reminding myself it can suck at the moment and I can fix it all later then forcing myself to finish it without tossing it out and starting over  so hopefully it won’t read as too much of a mess. It was either get it out and move forward or be stuck indefinitely. So here we are! 
            
            Hope you are well!! I’ve missed it around here!!

Ayo! So this announcement comes just as y’all been wondering if Cascadia was done for. No! I will be posting a brand new chapter tomorrow. No joke. Unfortunately I’ve been struggling with writing lately but I’ve finally managed to finish a new chapter and will be posting it despite its rough condition. I can’t afford to be as nit picky as I’ve been it seems. Many apologies to my readers and to those who’ve given me up for dead. Haha. Thanks y’all for your patience. For readers interested in a little hint of where we are going in this new chapter I leave you with only one word: Yorubaland.

@Olivia_Benedetti I feel this in my soul. It’s been so hard to get words down and when I do I’m so dissatisfied with them that I throw them out and start over. Not a very productive method so I’ve decided to just suck it up and post in whatever condition it comes out in and will fix later. I hope you find a way around your struggle as well!! Sending positive writing vibes your way!!

@SarahQuinnMcGrath hi!! I have been drowning in the real life pool lately. My son is about to graduate 8th grade and begin HS, so trying to get all his needs set up and met for next year, plus work and life have kept me hopping. I’m also in the works on new chapters of Cascadia. It’s just been hard to sit and focus for more than an hour at a time. Haha. How have you been?! I’ve missed it around here and I am missing reading Darkheart. I can’t wait to get back into it and see how dark it gets! (Im weird. Don’t judge me. ;-) )

@SarahQuinnMcGrath oh no worries!!! They will still be there. Probably. Haha. At least until after all these book clubs and awards closed. Then I might revamp it a bit. Nothing fundamental to the story. Just might try to repost it in smaller more easily digestible chapters for Wattpad. It’s a thought at the moment as I’m doing edits right now and am seeing ways to break it up without impacting the story.

          is it normal for an author to lose control of a story once the characters start taking on a mind of their own? Where is the line between writer and documentarian of fictional people?

@SarahQuinnMcGrath Girl, I feel you on that! Have you tried the note card method for open threads? It’s been a lifesaver for me to be able to see them all laid out for weaving and closing out. I can’t believe you’re almost done with Women of the Woods already! I am in awe!! I feel like you just started that one too.
