A day in the life of a nurse is full of chaos and uncertainty. It can be both physically and mentally exhausting. Every day is a new day with different people, different circumstances, and different outcomes. It is unpredictable. The one who you think will live, will die. The one who you think will die, will live. I have witnessed the miracle of birth and the tragedy of death countless times. Both of which have so much emotion attached to them. The hardest part for me is not death, but the role it plays on the loved ones coping with the loss and seeing the emotions play out across their faces.

These stories are told from a nurse’s prospective about babies, the young at heart, and everyone in between. Real life stories about real life people during their most vulnerable moments. Minor details have been changed to comply with privacy laws.
