I discovered my love for writing around 2003 when I joined a journaling site, GreatestJournal.com, and began writing in RPG communities. I answered an ad posted by @AliceRaeJordan for a PB storyline that caught my attention for a pass time writing session. The intended story was that of a powerful witch and a rogue vampire that, in retrospect, started out small and cringe worthy as far as the quality of our writing, but we found we had a lot of fun writing together and continued the story for several years.
There were gaps along the way due to a variety of complications: busy schedules, lack of internet access, life in general. Nevertheless, we always found our way back to our story. As the years stretched on, we developed a dynamic for our system of writing, bouncing ideas back and forth, and editing, and our writing improved as did the story. Characters rounded out, the plot evolved into something more, the working title changed and is still yet to be permanently determined, and we eventually decided that we might really be able to take it somewhere. So, here we are with an almost completed work that is pretty much our creative souls in print.
We are endlessly proud of our work and have had so much fun with the process. Regardless of how well we are or are not received in the creative world, the friendship is lasting, and this book has been the foundation, the bricks, and the mortar that built it and bridges the gap of distance between us.
Can you believe that in thirteen years Alice and I have never met face to face? It just goes to show that a love of art in all its forms has a universal language that reaches across the miles to bring our romantic hearts together regardless of age, gender, location, ethnicity, or social background.
