The difference between these Filipino and Spanish words

          Leche = Milk in Spanish

          Leche = Damn in Filipino.

          Btw
          Don't outright say leche in Filipino here in the Philippines, it's a really offensive word

JessKnitz

The fact another Filipino friend said “Our history is basically ‘we were colonized by Spain for 333 years’” XD

Yeah I know hehe (my dad apparently knows a good bit of y’all’s history too cuz he knew how significant 1898 was ☠️). It was interesting to find out how terms will mix languages too, like teleserye instead of telenovela

            Ok so y’all use both meanings XD Duly noted lol ✅

            Makes sense hehe. Was it just chopsticks before?

@JessKnitz
            OH
            DESSERT

            NO
            IT HAS THE SPANISH MEANING
            "MILK"

            You see the Philippines was colonized by the Spanish for 333 years, from 1565 until 1898. So technically, us Filipinos did adapt some Spanish words, mannerisms, etc.

            Yeah.
            We got "eating with spoons and forks" from them too.
