I'm just a guy with a bunch of ideas in my head. I used to "write" back in 5th-6th grade (it was horrible) and been going on ever since (Im 19[in a week])
Usually when I write a story, unless I get totally bored with the idea or its a one-shot, Ill put a huge amount of detail into each story. For example, In SSVUZA, The main character gets a vintage aluminum bat from his father signed by a famous baseball player from the era where they introduced the aluminum bats. It takes a litte bit of extra research, but it makes the story more believeable, and more fun on my part.
Music also inspires my writing alot. The main novel that i'm trying to write, Funky Karma, Is heavily influenced by music, so much so that the entire chapter list is actually a playlist of songs relating to the chapter.
