yes, cassowaries tend to be viewed as the most dangerous bird in the world...but they're really not that bad if you get to know them-like a pit bull dog. 
Roses have thorns. They also smell super sweet, and are incredibly beautiful. 
My point is, don't judge something by one of its features or point of views or maybe even not what you want to believe. Judge it by your experiences and what your heart believes.
