Hi all
          	I owe an explanation for the long silence. 
          	Wattpad as you know is basically a forum for readers and writers. As a writer, my oxygen is readership, as it reasonably is for all writers. The key to getting more readers on wattpad was an avenue called Forums, where you could post links to your stories and poems, and attract a readership based on pure curiosity or a read-for-read 9legit on wattpad). 
          	Well wattpad got taken over a year or so back and became a paid site. No sweat, as long as I was able to attract readers so I did my due diligence and signed up for the premium version. 
          	About a month back wattpad abruptly shut down the Forums. When asked, all they were able (or willing) to say was that some readers had unpleasant experiences and they would be back with something better soon (no commitments on time frames). So what this does is to leave us with the uncomfortable situation of paying for premium but being unable to attract readership (because if you can't talk about your work, you can't get people to read you, and if you can't get people to read you, what are you paying a premium subscription for?). 
          	So I've cancelled my premium subscription and am looking for alternative sites to publish on (social media for readers and writers, but without such random and arbitrary management). I will notify you as soon as I have found a nice place and will welcome you to join me there. It may be so that wattpad chooses to take down this message or my profile based on this message and if that is the case, please feel free to stay in touch with me at sameer.nagarajan@gmail.com
          	so I can personally keep you updated on next steps.

@SameerNagarajan I don't know what metric one would use to find the best site for sharing poetry. Google "Best  poetry sharing sites?"  And how does one sort out self-promoting responses? But I'll surely post my work there as well if you can find a good one. And as Ajay says, even more so now, a circle of established relationships here is what keeps me present. Who knows? I don't expect it, but perhaps Wattpad really will come up with "something better." But why not at least return the "Share Your Story" threads?? It's hard to see how one could get hassled there.

@SameerNagarajan I've not taken the premium subscription, nor do i have the intention to do so. simply because I'm not interested in the paid stories and the presence of ads doesn't irk me much. 
          	  I'm here for the community of people who stay like virtual friends, gaining a lot of reads is not my goal. but i do get you. good luck with wherever you plan to take your writing. give me a heads up:)
