It started when I was young
At the age where kids began to let go of their fantasies
Let go of their imagination
My friend was a thing called Shocky
I think Shocky had been a purple pony
When I was six, I let go of Shocky
I went to school and was happy
Then I graduated fourth grade
It was that winter he came back
At first it wasn't Shocky, I just saw this shapeless formless cloud of black matter floating in the air watching me
The thing began to haunt my dreams, taking the form of a tall sickly black horse made of shadows
I began to call it the Dream Horse
I remember how it stared at me with it's deep, black eyes
And how it always appeared when I was scared
 Whether the window was creaking or the closet door open too much, the horse was there
One night, I was trying to sleep
And the Dream Horse was there. Behind me, I sensed him
And a shaky, raspy voice muttered something by my ear
And it had said "I am Shocky"
I was paralyzed with fear
I managed roll over
And I saw it, in his deep, empty eyes, now a milky white color.  
The horses face was thin, the skin was rotting off
His eyes were foggy
All over, on patches of his head, his skull butted out, a shiny white against his ebony skin
Bones jutted out of his neck, where strands of hair grew from the skin around the bones
The skin hanging over his mouth was dripping off, revealing fangs
His legs were long and skinny, and his ribs were easily visible
His mane, though the rest of him was a dark, consuming black, had a white glow to it
His skull seemed almost hollow, as if he was merely a skeleton underneath
"I ... came ... back..."  Whispered Shocky in his old, sickeningly  raspy voice
I love my Shocky.
He's loosing his shadow effect, starting to look like a normal black horse, only creepy
Only the blackness was still too unnatural.  Shocky tells me there are more like him.  That I'm chosen to be his rider, his friend.
He says he has three brothers.  And his brothers are also training up their riders.
