@Selveyet Heyyy sis, ik this is weeks late atp lol but i logged in randomly and thought I'd weigh in a bit! When I first suspected I had ADHD, I made a google doc of as many behaviours as I could that showed how symptoms presented in me, both as a teen and in my childhood. In particular, I made sure to highlight behaviours/difficulties that had followed me thru life + what I struggled with more as a kid vs now and vice versa. My family dk about my diagnosis yet but I asked them and my friends - esp ppl who knew me since childhood - about specific symptoms and behaviours I exhibited as a kid (without mentioning ADHD lol) and that helped me externalise it all so i wasn't js thinking it was all in my head/ 'following a trend' or falsely self-diagnosing yk? Anyway, I talked about it extensively with my bsf tho and she was like girlie... I'm not surprised at all, ur like... textbook ;-; she might have ocd so when it comes to things ND folk tend to struggle with, we understand each other v well. I also kept a note of general MH issues I was having as that links into it too. I combed thru some old school reports to see if any symptoms popped up there which they did a little. I went thru my GP and Psych UK which took like 10-ish months in total from 1st steps to diagnosis but ik ppl who've been assessed much faster than that, esp thru uni. Anyway, hope ur doing well and don't stress too much about 'proving' anything. Ur subjective experience matters and the objectivity will show thru that too i.e. if ur an undiagnosed ND (black girl too!!) js rawdoggin life, it will show up one way or another. God bless! <3
