Author's Note
          
          Before judging the male lead solely by the standards of a typical romance hero, I'd like readers to understand one important aspect of his character.
          
          He is written with traits inspired by Schizoid Personality Disorder (SPD). SPD is not simply being cold, rude, or "emotionless." It is a complex personality disorder that often involves Emotional Detachment, Difficulty Forming Close Relationships, A Rich Internal World that remains hidden from others, and a tendency to withdraw from social and emotional connections.
          
          This does not excuse his actions, nor does it make him a good person. In fact, there are moments when I want to shake sense into him myself. But his inability to connect, express affection, or understand emotional intimacy is not a deliberate attempt to hurt the heroine. It is a limitation that Has Shaped The Way He experiences the world for most of his life.
          
          The man you are reading about is not a healthy example of love. He is a DAMAGED individual whose life has narrowed into a single purpose: REVENGE. *Long before he met the heroine, he had already abandoned the idea of living for anything else.*
          
          You are not supposed to agree with every choice he makes. You are supposed to witness the consequences of becoming *a person who has spent so many years disconnected from others that he no longer recognizes what he has lost.*
          
          Whether he changes or not is part of his journey.
          So if he frustrates you, that's understandable. Sometimes he frustrates me too.
          
          

A Small Note to My Readers
          
          Please refrain from using abusive or offensive language toward the characters. 
          
          I understand that some characters may seem suspicious, frustrating, or even unlikeable at certain points in the story. However, this book is built around MYSTERY. Not everything is as it appears. Many characters will have moments that make them seem guilty or questionable, but that does not necessarily mean they are bad people or the true villains of the story.
          
          Every scene, every action, and every accusation is part of a larger plot. Sometimes what is written is meant to mislead, create suspense, or hide the truth until the right moment. The story is still unfolding, and there is much more to be revealed.
          
          You are absolutely welcome to dislike a character, criticize their actions, or share your theories, but please do so respectfully. Constructive opinions are always appreciated; insults and excessive cursing are not.
