I have a question for y'all, are any of you dialogue readers? Probably no one will see this but I need to write about this. I just read a whole reddit post about it and people hating on it. I would consider myself a dialogue reader, and I would like to clarify what it means. Or at least for me. I don't only read the dialogue, and if something is happening in the book, like an epic scene or a plot twist or an escalation I will obviously read it. But, if virtually nothing is happening, like the characters are going to meet someone for dinner and I am reading their whole walk there, I ain't doing that. I can't be bothered to know what the stairs look like. But also, if I skip to the dialogue and don't understand what it's about, I will back track and read it. I understand the book just fine. One of my favorite authors is Laura Ingalls Wilder, and if any of you have read her books, she has a ton of description. And I like that about her..They are amazing. Literally, but, in some books she wrote pages of descriptions of plowing the ground, or riding in the cold, I will skim through it and done. Like, we get it, it is cold. She is an amazing author and you should definitely read her books, but I want to know, what are your opinions about this, because so far I have met no one who agrees with me.
