Day 4 of Randomly Choosing People To Remind Them They're Great - @ShortnamesaremidIn complete honesty, I'm nervous to even start this one. Don't take that the wrong way; I've been going through your stories, looking back through your posts, and recalling interactions that we've had to truly get a sense of you, and I assure you there is plenty for me to write about. My nerves can be explained by the first reason you're amazing, at least the first that comes to my mind, as it's very dear to me: you helped me break into the world of HermitPad. Without you and Emmy, I suspect that I would still be unknown and unheard. I've never had a chance or a way to thank you properly, but I haven't forgotten that kindness. That's the reason for the nerves, though. It always matters to me to do the person justice in these, but it feels extra important this time. Moreover, while your kindness is one reason your wonderful, there's so much more. Your stories are gorgeous landscapes (yes, I know that is a cringe way to describe it, let me explain) and are so fun to read. So often I'm reading stories where I love the premise, but I don't love the execution. They create winding paths of words that are hard to follow, and quite simply unnecessary (which I am definitely if not the most guilty person of doing.) Your stories are never like that, which is such a skill (I'm so jealous, actually.) Third, (which is kind of expressed in #2 actually,) you're simple. Which may sound bad, but it's not, I promise, I'll explain. You are legitimately just here for vibes. You are vibes. This entire page is just a hub of good vibes, which is such a refreshing thing to find. You did this. You. Congrats: You have cultivated a genuinely amazing community here, that helps people and make people feel good, and is fun to watch/interact in.

@dizzeyglitch awwww thank you T-T Discord is totally free! Im not so sure about data collection etc, they claim not to sell your data because they’re funded by subscriptions (which are optional btw) and I trust them kinda lol. Im a huge fan personally, it had a great user friendly interface, perfect for group chats, calls, quick messages, and finding people with your interests and being able to interact. I sound like im sponsored by discord lmao. No pressure, it isnt for everyone, but if you do decide to get it tell me!!! We also have a wattpad family discord for yaya’s family, which iirc you’re part of? We’d love to have you!

@Shortnamesaremid first thing’s first, don’t sell yourself short. You keep saying that it’s all the amazing community and people, but a community can only amplify greatness, not create it. You’ve done so much, and are so awesome, and that isn’t the community’s doing, that’s you :) Second, I understand exactly what you mean about not wanting to lose touch as your platform grows. It is really sad that it does happen to people, but I know what you mean. And you said exactly what I was trying to get across, in that you are the perfect example of not getting lost in that :) Third, sadly I don’t have discord, but I might get it. I’m doing research on it right now… is it free? What’s the status of data collection and selling? I’m afraid I don’t know much about it yet…

@Shortnamesaremid Also nothing has made me so pleased as you saying you like the vibe i’ve created on this page and the community ive become part of. I try really hard to surround myself with the right people and come across the right way. “Cultivated” makes it sound like its my doing, which it isnt really, its thanks to these wonderful people! When I was new here I had a few really awful experiences with authors who I really admired turning out to be jerks or awful people, and I promised myself I’d never turn into that person, who was like “too big of an author” or some crap. I always just wanted to be like, chill, y’know? Maybe you dont know beacuse I sure dont know what im talking about loll but maybe I got the point across. The point being… Im super happy im projecting the right time of vibe of someone who’s chill and always open to talk, and that you recognize that because ive worked really hard to… come across that way? IDK im making it seem like its something of my doing which it really isnt, i’ve been blessed with lovely friends and acquaintances on this site. Bro this message made my entire day, im shocked and pleased and… flattered and I feel entirely unworthy of this because I assure you im so uncool but like I feel so honored dude. Happy new year and genuinely dude… thank you so much. (Also do you have a discord??? We should totally talk more I havent interacted with you NEARLY enough, and each time I have has been delightful)
