According to Octavia E. Butler, You don't start out writing good stuff. You start out writing crap and thinking it's good stuff, and then gradually you get better at it. That's why I say one of the most valuable traits is persistence.
I'm a newbie in writing, starts writing last March for my first story. Just like what Octavia Butler said, Nothing starts with good stuff. I had so many revisions to do before publishing my first story.
